Maori Provider Development Scheme (MPDS)

Applications for the Māori Provider Development Scheme (MPDS) are now closed

The Ministry of Health has published the MPDS 2011/12 Purchasing Intentions (www.moh.govt.nz), which provides an overview of the criteria for MPDS funding.

The document, available from the Ministry’s website, indicates how available funds will be allocated across the 20 district health board (DHB) regions in New Zealand, as well as identifying how the available funding will be split between regional and national providers of health and disability services.

To be eligible for the development funding an organisation must:
  • be owned and governed by Māori, and providing health and disability services primarily but not exclusively to Māori,
  • have a contract/s with the Ministry of Health and/or District Health Board (DHB) and/or Primary Health Organisation (PHO),
  • be in the process of developing a contract with the Ministry of Health and/or District Health Board (DHB) and/or Primary Health Care Organisation (PHO).

Applications closed at 12 noon on Friday 27 May 2011.

Further inquiries can be emailed to MPDSadministrator@moh.govt.nz
