Whakatātaka : He Korowai Oranga at work


He Korowai Oranga: Māori Health Strategy sets the direction for Māori health development in the health and disability sector for the next five to 10 years. Accompanying the strategy is Whakatātaka: Māori Health Action Plan 2006-2011, which outlines what the Government will do to implement the strategy by setting objectives for Māori health over the next five years. It builds on from Whakatātaka: Māori Health Action Plan 2002-2005 which has provided the health sector with a valuable tool for contributing to reducing health inequalities between Māori and non-Māori.

He Korowai Oranga and Whakatātaka Tuarua: Māori Health Action Plan 2006–2011 provide a framework for the Ministry, DHBs and key stakeholders to take a leadership role in improving Māori health outcomes.
