Tipu Ora Charitable Trust (Lakes)
"If we believe it for ourselves, we can walk the talk and encourage others to do the same." It's a simple approach to whānau ora but it drives Tipu Ora's commitment to Māori workforce development and celebrates Māori mātauranga. Kaumatua and kuia are important in Tipu Ora’s model as is exposure to the teachings of our Māori health leaders and thinkers.
For the past two years Tipu Ora was subcontracted by a large tertiary institution to deliver training to community health workers. Today they are a newly registered private training provider and we applaud their work in training their students in tikanga Māori to better equip them for working in Māori communities.
