Highly commended in the Whānau Whānui category of the Whānau Ora Awards is Hauora Whanui. Their model 'Puna ki te Puna' encompasses whānau, home environment and communities - an inclusive model that encourages broad participation in care plans service provision and delivery. 'Puna ki te Puna' addresses health needs and works with other service providers to address education, housing, social and environmental needs of whānau. The Trust's kuia and kaumatua were pivotal in the development of Hauora Whanui's complete wellness model.
